MOT Type 1 aggregate is an approved granular sub-base material that is created using recycled crushed concrete and rubble. It’s made up of a mix of larger 40mm pieces right down to dust which compacts well to form a solid base, making it a great option to use on Roads, Pavements, Drives, Car Parks, Patios, Garden paths, Trench fills, Over-site fills.

Its hardwearing, and provides a load bearing stable layer and a flat surface prior to a top coating of asphalt, concrete, shingle or block paving. The fine mixture also ensures minimal voids in the sublayer when compacted with excellent load bearing properties

Both primary and recycled material can be used to produce a Type 1 sub-base.
This type of base stone is the most widely used crushed stone in construction and civil engineering industries across the UK
