A standard sized rail (87mm x 38mm) at 3.0m length with cut edges at both ends to make scarf joints against other scarfed rails. Commonly used in conjunction with the Mortice Posts to create post and rail fencing. This rail is pressure treated giving it a longer lifespan but not for ground contact.

Description
While the posts may be like the backbone of a fence, the rails are just as important as these determine the strength and finish of your fence.
Scarfed rails are used primarily with Timber or Concrete Mortice posts and simply slot into the mortice holes as the posts are erected.
These rails can also be used with Concrete Recessed posts and are bolted to the face of the post.

To work out how many rails you will need, take the overall length of your fence run (in metres), then divide it by the width of your bay.
